Pages are slightly tanned, with a bit of scattered faint foxing. Binding is sound and tight. No tears to leather or to pages. No writing/markings. No date, but probably ca. 1920s.

Red morocco leather. Embossed black and gilt ruled borders and decoration repeated in blind on back cover. Raised bands. Bevelled edges. All edges gilt. Undated but ca. 1880s. Illustrated with landscape borders on all text pages, 3 steel engraved plates. Slight rubbing to gilt titles on front cover. Previous owner's name on first blank page dated 1888. Pages are slightly tanned with scattered foxing, and a dime-sized brown stain to the middle of p. 214/215 which has stained through several additional pages.
